Bio:

Chanticlaire (Katie Pierce) is a musician, songwriter, music educator, musical humorist, and all-around nerd with a Master’s degree in music education and musicology in one pocket and shiny things for making friends with crows in the other. 

She is a multi-instrumentalist and plays the mandolin, trumpet, and ukulele just to name a few. In addition to her solo work, she has collaborated and performed with a myriad of bands, orchestras, choirs, and small ensembles over the years and is also one-half of the musical duo “Waites and Measures”. Chanticlaire has been performing professionally for over a decade as a solo artist all over the tri-state area and New England including being a featured performer for multiple years at Brooklyn’s Brukulele Festival, The New York Renaissance Festival, The Art Cafe, The Pandorica, Massachusetts Renaissance Faire, The Waystation, Pasteam Fest, Capital District  Faire, The BeanRunner, Lakewood Lions RenFaire and so many more.

She feels most at home entertaining folks at intimate music venues, renaissance faires, geeky festivals, cons, and cafes.

Chanticlaire takes her roots in classical and folk music and blends traditional style with soundscapes, jazz, and hip hop elements. She infuses her love of literature, science fiction, fantasy, and storytelling into all of her music.
